
A huge thanks to Heather Hackman of Heather's Sweet Treats for visiting the Bake Me Happy class this morning and sharing her talent, tips, and tricks for decorating cupcakes! The students practiced their techniques and then decorated some cupcakes of their own!









A day in the life of county service. Students got to tour the jail and see the many different offices within the courthouse. While at the courthouse they provided a helping hand.











Good luck to the Varsity boys golf team!! The boys golf team will play against Crestwood. The golf meet will start at 4 pm at Crestwood Country Club. Go Chickasaws!!


Today in Disaster Zone: The students and Mr Rude went to NHFD to see a live fire demonstration. A huge thank you to Paul Powers and Kipp Jones for their work! The students learned about ventilation, thermodynamics, and backdrafts.





New Hampton High School Drama Proudly Presents Murder in the Heir Play. The play will start at 7 pm on Friday April 21 and Saturday April 22 In the elementary school auditorium. tickets are $5.00 and doors open at 6:00.


Another great day of trying new things for some 5th graders. Mrs. O demonstrated and helped kids learn how to make cool things with frosting.









5th graders heard about a different kind of manners, social media and cell phone etiquette. Thank you to Attorney Marla Stanton, Officer Shawver, officer Nosbisch, and our new Chief for talking to the kids today.




The New Hampton Dollars for Scholars Awards Ceremony will be held this year on Tuesday, May 16th at 6:30 PM. The Ceremony will take place in the New Hampton High School Competition Gymnasium. The ceremony is open to anyone who would like to attend! Students are learning about journalism in Chickasaw Connections with Mrs. Bercik. Students are editing articles about Midmester classes. Working hard to hit that press deadline.






Students worked on prepping trees for Arbor Day activities with Mr. Crayne and got a chance to play games developed in Mr. Erlandson's coding class. Good job students!











A few pictures from Ms. Olson's Block 2 of "Owl Teach You How to Sew". Students' projects are coming along nicely and students are becoming more independent with their sewing. The uniqueness of the projects is really becoming more evident. Lots of neat color combinations.

TK was in the innovation lab for the month of April. They learned about how animals can keep cool. They had to build a shelter or structure to help Ferdinand keep cool!





Mrs. Wickham's first-grade class was in the innovation lab for the month of April. They learned about problem-solving. They built a grabber and had to test it out. They thought this was going to be an easy build but soon learn they had to keep trying and solve problems!





Mrs. Martinek's second-grade class was in for some coding in the elementary library. They were learning about algorithms and how to make the BeeBots move. They then created challenges for each other.






Mrs. Lechtenberg's first-grade class got some hands-on coding time! We tied it to the space unit they have done. They learned how to make the BeeBots move to certain grid points.








One of Mrs. Adam's midmester courses is Intro to ESports. Coach Mr. Adam is graciously letting us borrow the high school esports equipment. Students are using critical thinking to analyze their racing courses. Then they research character stats and different setups that will perform well on the tracks those chose to race. They hypothesize how their race will go and then reflect after each race how they can improve the next race.





Middle School students from Mrs. Schwickerath's group called "Bake Me Happy" collaborated with Mrs. Schmitt's high school students (Foods II Classes) baking cookies and more for their bake sale. Mrs. Roberson shared her expertise on cookie designing for the sugar cookies. Remember to come to their bakesale on Wednesday, April 26th from 3:30-5:30 in NHMS. Proceeds will go to a good cause.





5th grade students were very fortunate to get a tour of Keke’s and then returned to school for their no-bake challenge.










Students in Chickasaw Writer’s Collective had the opportunity to meet virtually with Brooke Gansemer (Van Sickle), award winning author and publisher. She talked to them about the writing process and gave them some feedback on their own children’s books!
