
We’re three weeks out from the NHMS Pickleball fundraising tournament. There are still plenty of openings for adults and students to play. Everyone is welcome, whether a beginner or advanced player. March 25th will be a great time!


New Hampton Elementary students have earned TWO dress-up days from the Kids Heart Challenge! Monday, March 6 will be Favorite Team Day and Tuesday, March 7 will be Pajama Day!

March 6th-10th is National School Breakfast Week! Did you know your student can eat a nutritious breakfast at school everyday except late start days? It is free or only $0.30 for those that qualify for free or reduced meals and only $1.85 for full pay students. If your student hasn't checked out what we offer for breakfast, encourage them to. It's more nutritious and less expensive than the convenience store or fast food restaurant.

We are going to have a Parade of Bands on Monday, March 6 at 7 pm at the competition gym in Middle school. The cost to get in is $5 for adults, $3 for students and under kindergarten free.


We are going to have a Jazz Dessert show tonight , March 3 at 7 pm at the Middle and High School cafeteria. We hope to see you!!

Thank you to everyone who made our first annual strawberry fundraiser a huge success! We sold 225 flats of strawberries! We raised over $2,300 towards two new ovens for our FCS Classroom. We are well on our way and hope through grant writing we will be able to purchase them in one year. Way to go Family & Consumer Science students!




Food Production Class has "Tribe Pizzas" hopefully available until the month of April or until they are all sold out. Right now we currently have every size and all 12 kinds! Please see the attached flier for more information. If you would like to order they are ready to go for a night you are just too busy to make supper! Please congratulate Mr. Russ, who is one of the seven finalists. He has been selected for the annual Golden Owl Award, For a record number of 463 nominations that were submitted statewide. Seven finalists have been selected for the annual Golden Owl Award, which celebrates Iowa’s top agriculture educator of the year. Sponsored by the Iowa FFA Foundation, Nationwide Insurance and other agricultural partners. The Golden Owl Award recognizes outstanding work in agriculture education and promotes the importance of the field. All finalists received an engraved plaque, $500 prize, and are now in the running for the state’s 2022-23 award. Which includes a grand prize of $3,000 and the Golden Owl trophy.

Iowa is one of nine states that honor top agriculture educators with the Golden Owl Award. Educators are nominated by students, teachers and other community members. “It’s always awesome to see the excitement over who’s providing quality ag education experiences in Iowa,” Eddy said. The 2022-23 Golden Owl Award grand prize winner will be named at the annual Iowa FFA Convention in April.

The Food Production class finished their PBL project with take and bake meals ready to order! They will make some to have on hand next week and we have a few available right away! We tested them all and man are they good!


Congratulations to the team of Diego Salas, Jesus Vega-Cardona, and Leo Morales for earning 3rd place in the IAHSEA APEX Legends Tournament! Nathan Rodriguez, Ben Schuchhardt, and Levi Pontenberg (not pictured) also played for New Hampton. This was the first APEX tournament put on by the IAHSEA and was a fun experience all around.





Progress! Prototypes completed and tested with a focus on generating redesign ideas! Physical Science students begin their rebuilds tomorrow!




The HS girls' basketball banquet will be Thursday, March 9th at 6:30 p.m. at the Pub at the Pinicon. Please RSVP how many from your family will be attending to Erica at e_schmitt@new-hampton.k12.ia.us by Monday. Cost is $10/person which should be paid the night of the banquet. Thank you.

Mrs. Lechtenberg’s first grade class was in the innovation lab to learn about waterproof and how to make their hearts watersproof. Great job!
