Celebrity readers, Tyler (football) and Carlee (volleyball), read to the second graders in Mrs. Nuss’s classroom.

Miss Bredman's class loved having Joshua Scott, Kelsey Klassen, Emily Jackson, and Natalie Marr join their class to read and play centers. Having celebrity readers for homecoming is a class favorite!
Our Little Chickasaws gave a great welcome to our Big Chickasaws as
Celebrity Readers! Our littles really look up to these student
athletes and enjoyed listening to stories, talking with them, and
playing some fun games.
Good luck to the varsity volleyball team! They will travel to Janesville High School to play against the multiple schools. Go Chickasaws!!

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Her name is Kris Ward and she is teaching 8th grade Spanish Exploratory, Spanish II and Spanish III. She would like to introduce you to Izzy.
Izzy was born on December 21, 2020 and came to live with Kris and her husband on February 12, 2021. Izzy is a Goldendoodle, which is known to have an ‘allergy-friendly’ coat, to be intelligent, friendly and people-oriented. Izzy is all of this and more!
She and Kris have been working hard together training to be ready to come to school. At the end of July she passed the Canine Good Citizen Test and the Urban Good Canine Citizen test. This is a huge accomplishment for a dog her age and shows her intelligence and adaptability.
Izzy would like to come to school this year and spend most of her days with us in the Spanish classroom. Animals can provide great comfort in an otherwise stressful day. However, Izzy also understands that dogs can be scary for some people; therefore we will have a kennel in the classroom for her to spend her time or on a leash to limit her movement within the classroom, if your child/ren has reservations with Izzy being in the room.
Please let her know if there are any allergies or fears that Izzy and Kris need to be aware of, so we can make all the necessary preparations for a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Her email address is: k_ward@new-hampton.k12.ia.us.
