Congratulations on our new arrival of new culinary equipment for the FCS Classes (Family & Consumer Science). We were able to purchase a new reach-in-cooler and drying racks from a Perkins Grant. A huge thank you to all of the staff that made this possible: Mr. Manson, Christy Roethler, Bill Richter, Norb Geerts, and Mrs. Schmitt. The students will be using the equipment this week for a food lab! Keep up the good work and keep improving our school!

Tonight’s girls and boys basketball games with W-SR have been postponed due to quarantining for Covid exposure. There is no HS basketball practice tonight. The boys basketball game on Thursday (1/14) vs. South Winneshiek has also been postponed.
Our second grade class read Officer Buckle and Gloria last week in our Journeys book. We decided to make thank you notes for our local police officers and deputies. Here is our class showing off their work.

The halls smelled really good on Friday during the Cookie Lab in Mrs. Schmitt's Foods I Class. The students fill out a Mise En Place Sheet before the lab and then a Lab Report after they have completed their lab to review what they did well and what skills need to be improved upon.
Panini Food Labs were a success during Mrs. Schmitt's Foods I Class last week.

Attached you will find our class schedule for Session 3 and 4. We have to continue to do our part to help keep our kids safe at school and all of the other activities continuing. Beginning on 1/19, students will be taking Periods 1,3,6,8 in their second semester schedule.

We will be following guidelines established by the host school for athletic events. Here are guidelines for Saturday's events:
JV/Girls wrestling @ Central Elkader - No spectators allowed.
V. wrestling @ Atlantic - 2 spectators per wrestler
Girls' Basketball @ Hudson - Gym is open for spectators. Masks are required & seating is restricted to every other row.
Good afternoon,
For tonight only we are going to allow guests into our gym for the basketball contests without specific passes or checklists until conference guidelines have been established. We will be revisiting these guidelines after we gather more information as we move forward for future events.
-Masks are mandatory at all times while indoors for EVERYONE that is not directly competing.
-Seating will also be limited to every other row to allow for physical distancing. Families are encouraged to sit as a group and distance from others.
-New Hampton fans will sit on the South side of the gym and visiting fans will all sit on the North side of the gym.
-No food or drink is allowed in the gym.
-Students MUST practice social distancing in the student section.
These same guidelines will be in effect at the boys' basketball games in Waukon tonight.
