Our three year olds have been having a great time in preschool this March! We had a sensory bin filled with St. Patrick's Day coins and shamrocks to work on our sorting and fine motor skills. They practiced beginning writing skills by doing a directed drawing of a leprechaun and painting it with water colors. The preschoolers created green shamrocks by mixing yellow and blue paint. They also had a math activity where students counted the number on their die and then filled in that many dots on their shamrock. Our show and tell this month is bringing in something green to share. And of course we couldn't forget to create a leprechaun trap. We never did catch him but we sure had fun trying!

Every year, Mr. Jurrens shares information about the Chickasaw Tribe to the third graders. This year was extra special because Mr. Jurrens had the opportunity to visit the Chickasaw Nation in Oklahoma. He was able to bring back items that the Chickasaw Tribal members created, which included an arrow and a rattle.
