Students in 4th grade had the opportunity to carve pumpkins with Mrs. Matthews. There were mixed feelings about cleaning out the pumpkins.

Some of the 8th graders helped to unload the truck from NEIA Food Bank for the Chickasaw Pride Pantry. They unloaded in a flash! The pantry is available for those who find themselves in need and has 24/7 access in the front high school vestibule.

Reminder that the High School Guidance Department will be holding meetings for parents of Seniors and Freshmen next week during parent/teacher conferences. Each night of conferences will be the same: Senior meeting from 6-7 p.m. and Freshman meeting from 7-8 p.m., held in the old cafeteria/current HS Foods room. The meetings will likely not last the entire hour, but I wanted to leave time for questions. These meetings are not mandatory, but will cover useful information for each grade level. Sophomore and Junior parent meetings will be held in the Spring. Any questions can be emailed to Michelle O'Donnell at m_odonnell@new-hampton.k12.ia.us

Foods I Class has continued practicing their knife skills with a taco lab (including making fresh salsa and guacamole) and a baked potato lab. Both sections have improved their lab skills immensely
