Our district has had an organization reach out to us regarding providing Giving Tree forms for any that may. need assistance for the holidays. If you would like a form sent to you, please call or email the school counselor at your child's building. If you have children at multiple buildings, only one form is needed. Contact Josie Evanson at the Elementary (j_evanson@new-hampton.k12.ia.us), Jenna Clausen at the Middle School (j_clausen@new-hampton.k12.ia.us) or Michelle O'Donnell at the High School (m_odonnell@new-hampton.k12.ia.us) for a form. Forms are due back to the school by October 28.

Baking I Class is on their Quick Bread Unit. For labs they made strawberry shortcake and crepes. None of the students had made these before and they turned out so delicious! Of course we do vocabulary, worksheets, tests, etc. but for some reason they prefer the hands-on learning of the labs!

Foods II was grilling for greatness today making their sliders for our beef unit. OMG they were delicious! One had sauteed onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and pepper jack cheese. The other group's had their burgers seasoned with Lynch BBQ Steak Shaker (THANK YOU LYNCH LIVESTOCK FOR THE DONATION OF SPICES AND SAUCES), sauteed onions, slice of ham and avacado. Both were served on Hawaiian buns. Both burgers were amazing, but the one with the Steak Shaker was the best burger!

Today 2nd graders in Mrs.Conway's class enjoyed a visit from the Chickasaw County Farm Bureau's Agriculture in the Classroom Educator! Students learned all about different dairy breeds and even created their own mini booklets to go along with the lesson!
