Congrats to Emma Carpenter, Hailey Klassen, and Baylee Rapenske for cheering in the 2022 Iowa Honor Cheer squad at the 2022 Iowa High School football championships today!
Thank you to our judges from the community: Jennifer Bouillon (from the bakery Sweets by Keke), Julie Havel (the owner of the Blue Iris), and Liz Zweibohmer (New Horizons Chamber Office). You were all marvelous as cake judges! Each student had a representative that spoke for their group and explained how they made their cakes and answered the judges questions. Here is a picture of one of our students, Whitnee. The cakes were judged with a rubric on: Wow Factor, Taste, Frosting, Decorations, and Overall Unique Design.
Congratulations to Mrs. Schmitt's FCS classes for being awarded a $500 grant from the Iowa Beef Council. The money will go towards our grocery bill with all of the beef we use in our recipes during food labs. A huge "Thank You" to the Iowa Beef Council!

Due to blowing snow and road conditions, St. Ansgar is going to err on the side of caution and cancel tonight's Jamboree. The girl's jamboree for tonight has been cancelled.
7th grade took a field trip to The National Mississippi River Museum.

We will have a first girls wrestling tournament on Saturday, November 19 at Independence High School. It will start at 9 am.

We will have 2 hours early dismissal on wednesday, November 23. We will not have school on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25 due to Thanksgiving break. Have a great Thanksgiving break!!

Miss Bredman's class earned a class birthday party this week! They had birthday cake, wore crowns and played musical chairs! Everyone also received a party blower to play with! It was one fun party!
Winter Clothing Drive:
The Iowa Big North Students would like to invite you to bring winter clothing to donate on November 18th to Meet the Team Night to support our local families in need. We will still be doing our canned food drive as well, but know there is a need in our community for both projects. A box will be available in the cafeteria for donations. Thank You for your support.
