The high school is going to have a Winter Music Festival on Monday, December 19 at 7 pm in the high school gym. The admission to get in is $5 for adults and $3 for students K-12

New Hampton Schools will be two hours late on Friday, December 16th.

Some 7th and 8th grade students had a chance to join a Zoom with two actors from the hit Broadway musical Hamilton in Mr Rude’s class. Marcus Choi (George Washington-National Tour) and Cherry Torres (standby for Schyler sisters) spoke to the class for about an hour.



Students in Advanced Algebra completed a project on linear modeling this semester.





et the tomato fight begin! Gatlin and Dakota taught the Spanish III class all about La Tomatina, a famous tomato fight in Buñol, Spain.


Christmas in Spain has some traditions than what we know here, but sweet treats are shared by both. Morgan made the Spanish III class Turrón- a nougat made with almonds, honey, sugar, and eggs. It was delicious!

Is visiting the Galapagos Islands on your bucket list? Olivia taught us all about the ecosystem of the Galapagos Islands and even made a small model.


Erin found a tradition from Spain that happens around Valentine's Day called LA Diada de Sant Jordi. This is a time when men and women gift each other with books and roses!


Ethan and Cam taught us about MMA fighters whose origins are from Spanish-speaking countries and then gave us a little demonstration. Thanks guys!

Who made the best Falla? Natalie and Becca adapted a Falla to be able to create one in the classroom. Typically they are large structures made of cardboard, Styrofoam and paper-mâché and become towering monuments. Then they vote on the best and the rest are burned! This festival takes place in Valencia, Spain.



Photography class has been working on blacklight photography this week. This project involves using fluorescent tempera paint, painted on a participant. Photography students photograph the model in a dim room with blacklight lighting.

Good luck to the wrestling teams. They are going to travel to Charles city HS for the wrestling meet. It will start at 6:15 pm tonight.


Baking I Class has been busy making candies for one of their final labs. We have covered so much in this new class and it has been a lot of fun! The students have learned a lot and have kept a digital portfolio of all of their baking labs to show their growth.

We will have 2 hours early dismissal due to the beginning of the winter break on Thursday, December 22. We will not have school on Friday, December 23-January 3rd. The second semester will start on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023.

Baking I Class did a cookie exchange lab and made several different types of cookies: refrigerator cookies, drop cookies, pressed cookies, and rolled cookies. Then they all shared with each other and took home a box of cookies.
