Foods I Class made omelets! They really did an excellent job in the cooking process. We are still working on "how to clean-up," but they will learn as they are still beginners.

The day in the life of a FCS (Family & Consumer Science) teacher can be a full day. She is in a "boot" for two weeks for her foot, so her students needed to "step it up" and they did! Today's labs were: 7th graders made banana bread and Foods II made: homemade ice cream, butter, and vanilla & chocolate pudding- all from scratch! Foods I Class made omelets that according to them were "bussin'" and I think that was good because they were excited when they said it. Yesterday I showed baking class how to make pie crust and tomorrow we will make apple pies. The hallways will smell good on Wednesday! Advanced Foods will do their Stir-Fry Lab this week too. My students are wonderful and they are learning culinary life skills along the way.

Food Production Class took a field trip to Josie's to learn how to make pizza. The students would love to take two more field trips to other pizza places in town, but time won't allow this. Thanks to "Josie" for opening up during the day!

The Spanish III students learned how to make tortillas last week. The ingredients are simple - corn flour and water. They used a tortilla press or their creativity to press the tortillas, then cooked them on a skillet. Then they were eaten or fried to make chips. Qué delicioso!
