
Chickasaw Tribe Pizza business is started!





Friday is Arbor Day. We would like to thank Kim Leichtman and the Chickasaw County Soil and Water Conservation District for purchasing white spruce trees for us to plant. These trees were sent home yesterday. We hope this activity helps fourth grade students develop an appreciation for one of our most important natural resources.


The soccer game scheduled for tonight against NF-V has been cancelled due to standing water on the field.

The middle schoolers had the chance to go to the daycare in Fredericksburg to love on and interact with the children there. Their main task was to observe the children and Figure out what qualities we as adults should take from the children to shine like diamonds in the world:)





Interact Club and Rotary Club are sponsoring a Personal Care drive to FILL our upcoming Chickasaw Pride Pantry! Please help to gather much needed items. The pantry will be a 24/7 access located inside the front doors of the High School. More information to follow when the pantry is ready!


The HS coed track meet in Cresco has been cancelled.
The JH boys track meet in Waukon has been cancelled.
The JH girls track meet in New Hampton has been cancelled.
All practices are normal today, 4/28/22.

5th grade students learned from an expert baker, Mrs. O. how to decorate using piping bags. So fun!





Students had fun cleaning the courtroom and picking up sticks/mulching the outside of the courthouse. Great job students!




Friendly reminder we have our Kindergarten Visit tomorrow (4/28) from 8:30-9:30. This is for any child who will be 5 by September 15, 2022 and is interested in our TK or Kindergarten program! Please see the attached flyer or call the elementary office for more information.


The 5th grade baking team whipped up some No Bakes for a friendly contest. Judges looked for best appearance and best flavor!!





Advanced Foods Class of 20 students learned about making soups, stews, and sauces. This is classic culinary at its finest. Every future chef should know the process of soups, stews, and sauces. The students didn't mind doing all of the prep work because they said there were less dishes to do by cooking in a one-pot method. "I am so proud of my students; they are wonderful!" said Mrs. Schmitt




Advanced Foods Class of 20 students learned how to make Beef Stew and Chili accompanied with Cheddar Bay Biscuits and Seasoned Oyster Crackers. The cold weather lately was perfect for a warm meal today.




Fourth grade got to visit a pig farm virtually today to learn about pigs and pig farming. The presentation was titled: There’s A Pig in My Classroom: Fair Oaks Pig Adventure! Thanks to Fair Oaks for the opportunity to learn about an important part of our Iowa culture!


Students didn’t let the cold weather stop them from make memories fishing today in the midmester class, Will you go Out With Me? Despite the cold temperatures Students caught one fish, one lure, and one bikini top. Fun was had by all, learning how to cast and bait their own hook.




Students on the fifth grade decorating committee have been working hard to be sure our event space will be looking great for our fancy dinner next week!


Mr. Rude's Disaster Zone: Preparing to help your community took a visit to the NHFD Station where Joel Knutson helped inform the students on the tools and equipment necessary to help in our community. More Pictures to come on a fire simulation.





Housing & Interior Design just finished an important chapter about the Elements of Design. The students learned about: line, form, space, mass, texture, and color. They illustrated their knowledge by creating a shoebox bedroom and then referred to each element of design. We are wrapping up the color chapter by learning about psychological meanings of the effect color has upon a room and the mood it places you.



A huge thank you to Iowa Pork Producers for a mini-grant of $100.00 in pork coupons. This allows us to get free pork for our many food labs for Middle School FCS, Foods I, Foods II, Advanced Foods, and Baking & Food Production Classes.


Mrs. Lectehnberg's first-grade class had an innovation lab! We continued to learn about poetry. They listened to camping poems and how imagery plays a part. The students created a poem using imagery. Next, the students created a blueprint for creating a tent.





The girl's golf meet in Charles City scheduled for today as been cancelled.
