Our new class: Baking & Food Production learned about different types of cookies: bar cookies, drop cookies, rolled cookies, molded cookies, refrigerator cookies, and pressed cookies. Have you ever wanted to know why your cookies turned out flat and crisp? The students discovered cookie characteristics and their causes to answer all of the cookie dilemmas while baking. One student commented in their cookie lab report, "There is a lot more to making cookies than you realize!"

Housing & Interior Design I Class has been working hard learning about the exterior of homes. They had a challenge to build with materials on hand (just like the people used to do) an exterior design style. Some of the homes they built were Georgian, Federal style, Tudor, Gothic Revival, Cape Cod, etc. Then the pairs of students presented their homes to the class and explained the different attributes of each style. They talked about porticos, oculus, pediments, arches, and Gable roofs just to name a few of the new vocabulary words.
