Since the school has an investment in our baseball diamond at Mikkelson Park, I thought you may want to hear some positive news. At this past Saturday night's IHSBCA annual awards banquet in Cedar Rapids, our ballpark was honored as "Diamond of the Year." For context, New Hampton received the award while in competition with ballparks like 3A Independence's new approx. 2+ million all-turf field and 4A Cedar Falls' newly renovated approx. quarter-of-a-million-dollars facility. In total, New Hampton was amongst the top 2 vote-getters of every single high school ballpark in the entire state of Iowa, regardless of class size. A lot of people have contributed to this honor in a lot of different ways over the course of a lot of years. It's pretty dang special recognition for little ol' New Hampton from coaches & umpires in literally every corner of the state. GO CHICKASAWS!

All Around the World with Cooking, Culture, & Crafts was a huge success during Showcase night. The students answered questions about their countries and gave out free food samples of recipes from their particular country. "It was a fun opportunity to meet parents and tell them how wonderful their students were and a great opportunity for the community to see what our students are learning." said Mrs. Sch
