Time for our first home boys basketball game of the season!

Christmas has come early to the Family & Consumer Science Classroom! Thanks to Mr. Manson and Mrs. Schmitt and the State Perkin's Grant a few items were purchased, free of charge to NHHS, for next semester's new class: Baking & Food Production. It will be a new entrepreneurship business the students will create and run. More to come on our future pizza business and take and bake casseroles. We were able to buy towels and dish cloths, a pizza oven, a shrink wrapper for the pizzas, and a new cart. More items to follow.
Two more grants were awarded to NHHS thanks to Mrs. Schmitt's grant writing: McElroy Grant and a Theisen Grant. The goal is to have an industrial dishwasher for the foods' room and future Chickasaw Cafe by next year.

Good luck to the boys basketball teams! The 9th boys basketball team will play against W-SR at 6 pm in the MS gym at home. The JV and Varsity boys basketball team will play against Mason City at 6:15 p.m. in the HS gym at home. Go Chickasaws!

Mrs. Nuss second grade class came to the library for innovation lab! Innovation lab has two parts: first one is literacy based and second part is STEM based. We read the book If I Built a House by Chris Van Dusen. The students then created blueprints, determined what innovated rooms they would like in their house, then tried building their house!

Today the seventh graders learned about the importance of etiquette in F.C.S. (Family & Consumer Science) class. They acted out scenarios about proper etiquette in a restaurant (see the photo of blowing their nose at the table) and during a job interview. We talked about when proper table manners would be important and Mrs. Schmitt was happy when they decided all of the time etiquette should be observed.

Housing & Interior Design students made a "shoe box bedroom" applying the elements of design: line, form, space, texture, and color. They included a written summary and presentation explaining what in their "shoe box bedroom" represented their elements of design. The students were very creative!

Today the 7th graders in Mr. Rude's class learned about economic and the value of products while playing the TRADE game. It involves trading letter cards with other students to spell the word TRADE. We learned that there's definitely a few students with a future in business!

Good luck to the boys basketball team! They will travel to and play against Turkey Valley. The first game will start at 5 pm. Go Chickasaws!

Good luck to the girls basketball team! They will travel to and play against Turkey Valley. The first game will start at 4 pm. Go Chickasaws!
