To finish our cutting methods and prep term unit; Foods I Classes made omelets.
We watched two quick Jamie Oliver videos and he used garlic and squeezed juice out of a lemon. Then Mrs. Schmitt did a demonstration lab and showed the students how to fold the omelet into a French Omelet as it is sliding off the pan onto the plate. The students were very successful! Ask your student to make you an omelet at home; just to show off!!

Middle School students kicked off Red Ribbon Week by listening to State Trooper Tom Williams talk about the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol, and vaping.

Mrs. Schmitt's Foods I Class are learning confidence during one of their first labs of flipping an egg in the air without using a spatula. Yeah, they did it! Cooking groups cheered each other on when they were successful.
Cooking labs teach you culinary skills, time management, group work, leadership skills, and employability skills of working together.
