We had great success in Mrs. Schmitt's Foods II Grain lab today. They learned about all of the kinds of grain from quinoa to milet and more kinds of pasta than I can mention! The students learned about how to store and prepare pasta and rice. What do you mean whole wheat flour should be stored in the refrigerator? Yes, it should be. The high school students are working on a Norman Borlaug presentation too! They are becoming quite the good chefs!

Mrs. Schmitt's Advanced Foods students sent wonderful smells of stir-fry throughout the halls this week. The students mastered the skills and steps of creating a stir-fry in a wok. There is a lot more to it than you would think! This unit also included the casseroles with vocabulary and their history. "Way to go Advanced Foods students and keep up the great wok!"
