Students in Mrs. Heeren's 2nd grade class have been learning about Holidays Around The World. They learned about the importance of the Christmas tree or O Tannenbaum while studying Germany. As a STEM assignment, students were asked to design a tool out of three rubber bands, three pipe cleaners, and four pieces of paper. Their tools were then used to build a Solo cup Christmas tree without their fingers touching the twenty-five cups. What a great team building activity!
7th Grade FCS showed their teamwork and planning by making Gingerbread Houses (with graham crackers) in class. Thanks to June Laures and Mr. Manson for covering the FCS classes while Mrs. Schmitt works from home with pneumonia. "I am so proud of my students for carrying on without me! It is so difficult to be gone!" said Mrs. Schmitt.
The second grade classes of Mrs. Heeren, Mrs. Martinek, and Mrs. Nuss are enjoying the second half of Hour of Code this morning. Thank you also to Mr. Monteith for your help!
