Did you do some summer cleaning over the summer and find some library books you forgot you had?! Have you been holding on to some books for a while? Bring them with you to freshman orientation or open house and stop at the library to turn them back in! We would love to have those books back in their home for the next reader to enjoy!
Please reach out to Mrs. Kyra Lewis, K-12 district librarian, if you have any questions!

High School Students: you will be able to view your 1st Semester schedule on Wednesday. Please note that due to staffing, many things are not able to be changed (i.e., moving classes around to certain class periods) so we are only able to take add or drop requests at this time.

Freshman Open House is August 14th at 6 pm in the HS/MS Cafeteria. Come get classes and learn about high school! Look forward to kicking off a great year! Treats will be served by the FFA.

The Chickasaw Booster Club is looking for 4 students to help serve the meal at Meet the Team Night on August 23, from 4-7 p.m. in the High School cafeteria. Any high school students that are enrolled in an online college course for Fall, you will want to check on your course to see if you need to order a textbook. Reminder that while the school district covers the cost for online courses, it is your responsibility to pay for the textbook for those courses. This message does NOT apply to courses like Anatomy, Comp I, the college courses taught by Mrs. Anderson, Public Speaking or Psychology. Again, this is for online-only courses. If you do not remember if you signed up for an online course, you can log into your My Campus/Brightspace account with NICC and it should show up there if there is planned enrollment in the course. Below are some helpful tips for ordering books for your online courses:
Visit the NICC Online Bookstore ( https://nicc.textbookx.com/institutional/index.php) to order course materials or obtain the required textbook information. See attached flier.
For Online Customer Service, please go to https://nicc.textbookx.com/help
Important Reminders:
Pay special attention to shipping timelines (https://nicc.textbookx.com/service/shipping.php); you will want to be prepared for the first day of class.
Only open shrink-wrapped textbooks once you have confirmed continued enrollment in the course.
Only scratch-off access code cards once you have guaranteed continued enrollment in the class.
Review the return policy when purchasing items if you drop a course (See the FAQ above.

Even though we at New Hampton Community Schools are able to provide free meals this summer to North Washington & Alta Vista until July 30th, they are also available in other schools throughout the US! Here is the link to help you locate where you can find meals for your child/children, even if you are traveling to other states! I do recommend contacting the site you are interested in to see if it is grab & go or a sit down, on-site meal and to see if they would like advanced notice for a meal count. https://www.fns.usda.gov/summerfoodrocks

The New Hampton Chickasaw Baseball Team sincerely thanks everyone for your overwhelming and uplifting love, support, and encouragement during the state tournament. We players and coaches greatly appreciated it and hope that we made you proud to be a Chickasaw!
