Every year, Mr. Jurrens shares information about the Chickasaw Tribe to the third graders. This year was extra special because Mr. Jurrens had the opportunity to visit the Chickasaw Nation in Oklahoma. He was able to bring back items that the Chickasaw Tribal members created, which included an arrow and a rattle.

The elementary book fair will be open again during conferences! It will be open from right after school, March 14, to the end of conferences at 8pm. There are some Teen Reads at the book fair. The book fair will also be open next week, March 19-22.

Mr. Wisner is joining New Hampton High School for his 2nd student teaching placement in art with Ms. Nelson. He is a two-time graduate of UNI where he first received his BFA in Drawing and minor in Art History in 2019. He will receive his BA in Art Education this spring. In his own work, he explores the individual characteristics of likewise things. From what each fork of spaghetti from a bowl looks like to drawing every french fry in a box from McDonald's, Mr. Wisner enjoys collecting data and visualizing it for the viewer. His favorite mediums include any form of printmaking, chalk pastel, ink, and more recently Procreate on an iPad.
When indoors, he games, plays piano, enjoys cooking new things, and sketches. When outdoors, he quickly finds a way to return back indoors if it isn't disc golf, a BBQ, or a quiet walk around town. Please welcome him to our community and know he always has time for cat pictures!
