Housing & Interior Design I Class has been working hard learning about the exterior of homes. They had a challenge to build with materials on hand (just like the people used to do) an exterior design style. Some of the homes they built were Georgian, Federal style, Tudor, Gothic Revival, Cape Cod, etc. Then the pairs of students presented their homes to the class and explained the different attributes of each style. They talked about porticos, oculus, pediments, arches, and Gable roofs just to name a few of the new vocabulary words.

The 8th graders would like to invite the public to their annual Oratory Showcase and Dessert Night next Thursday, starting at 6pm in the middle school cafeteria. Eight students will share speeches that they have written about topics that they feel are important. Additionally, three students will share poems that they have written, and other students will perform some improv sketches as well. It will be a night of fun, laughter, thought, and reflection and we'd love to see you there! Desserts will be served as well.

During our genetics unit, Biology students learn about DNA, fingerprinting and the uniqueness of fingerprints. Today, with the help of Chief Nosbisch, students were fingerprinted and learned how to find fingerprints on random surfaces throughout the classroom.
