Comfy, Creative, and Camera-Ready...Day 1 PJ Day 🛌
The Chickasaws came dressed to impress in their coziest pajamas! From fluffy robes to fuzzy socks, our halls are full of comfy vibes and creative energy with door decorating finishing for Judging Wednesday.

Today 2nd graders in Mrs.Conway's class enjoyed a visit from the Chickasaw County Farm Bureau's Agriculture in the Classroom Educator! Students learned all about different dairy breeds and even created their own mini booklets to go along with the lesson!

Hallway fun for HOCO Hoedown 2025! What a great tradition to bring the classes together!

Farm Safety Day at the Big Four Fairgrounds in Nashua was a success! Fourth graders learned a lot about livestock, railroad safety, electrical safety, grain safety, tractor safety, ATV/UTV safety, and first aid. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped. The Fourth graders appreciated it!

Elementary Homecoming Dress Up Days!

Congratulations to Kylee Junk and Madi Shawver for being selected for the All-Iowa Honor Dance Team! The girls will perform at halftime of the Iowa Girls State Basketball Championships in March. This marks Madi's 3rd consecutive year on the team, and Kylee's 4th, making her the first in school history to achieve this four-year accomplishment!

Bus #4 is running 15 minutes behind.

"Adapting lesson plans is just part of teaching," said Mrs. Schmitt. It is fast-paced during a lab in the FCS (Family & Consumer Science) program. Schmitt made (with the help of a senior student who earned senior hours) cards with a picture, English and Spanish. We have ingredients, prep terms, equipment terms, etc. Last year the school offered Babbel to any teacher that wanted it and Mrs. Schmitt took a refresher course on Spanish. This way all students will be successful at NHHS.

Food Production PBL (Project Based Learning) Project question was: How do you eat healthy snacks in the afternoon? The students decided to have a Snack Shack. They learned a lot with this project! They found healthy recipes, went to Fareway and purchased ingredients by deciding what was the most cost effective (one student had never been to a grocery store), made advertising posters, named their products, created posters, and most importantly learned how to count back money. There was problem solving along the way and a lot of teamwork. Some of the snacks were: meat/cheese/crackers, red & green grapes, ham ranch tortilla wraps, banana bread, veggies with hummus, homemade granola, and some snack mixes. Students and staff enjoyed buying inexpensive healthy snacks to crave their afternoon hunger.
