Arbor Day - Our red cranberry shrubs arrived on Friday! Matt Crayne explained how to plant the shrubs to our fourth grade students and what we need to do to keep them healthy- -a big thank you to him for sharing! Also, thank you to Kim Leichtman for setting up delivery of these shrubs and to the Chickasaw County Soil and Water Conservation District for purchasing them for us. Planting trees/shrubs is a great way to celebrate Arbor Day!

three year olds had so much fun hatching chicks! We had to wait 21 days for the eggs to hatch into our cute, fuzzy chicks. They created fun artwork and played with lots of farm toys as we waited to meet our little chickies. What a great hands-on learning experience for these students!

Last spring Mrs. Knutson received money the Chickasaw Community Foundation Grant and the New Hampton Public Library Memorial Fund to add some fun additions our playground. With the beautiful weather this week the students were able to enjoy two of the new additions. One being a fun new car added to the playground area, along with a story walk along the school building. Today Miss Bredman’s students enjoyed walking along the playground as they read the story “I Need a Hug” and took part in the activities that are under every page!

The 5th grade class was involved in planning and executing a classy dinner for their Endmester class. This involved the students being broken into baking, entertaining, and decorating committees. The students learned about kitchen basics, the importance of good manners and dining etiquette, as well as how to be good sports and show sportsmanship in a variety of situations. We are proud of the students’ work today as we celebrated with our main event at the New Hampton Golf and Country Club.
