2nd grade students learned about the roles in computer science then each took on a role when commanding and programming the BeeBots!
The Spanish III students are using their drama skills in class by acting out scenes from a story being read which practices this unit of vocabulary. The story was about 2 octopi trying to escape being caught and eaten. The vocabulary includes: 'approached' and 'saw that there was', and adds more past tense learning.
Great night for some Jazz! The Middle School and High School preformed the Annual Jazz Dessert Show tonight for their tune up for contest tomorrow!
On the second night of Parent/Teacher conferences, the High School Guidance Department will again be holding grade-level parent meetings. We held meetings for the Freshman and Senior parents in the Fall, and this Spring, we will hold meetings for Sophomores and Juniors. Both meetings will be held in the old high school cafeteria (upper level) on Thursday, March 14, with the Sophomore parent meeting being held from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. and the Junior parent meeting held from 6:30 - 7:00 p.m. While these are not mandatory, there will be useful information given on course policies, college visits, FAFSA, college admissions, graduation, etc.
Elementary is kicking off Read Across America Week soon! It will be from March 4th through March 8th! The entire month of March, in fact, is dedicated to reading. Focus is to encourage reading and educate people about its benefits, especially among children and young adults.
Mousetrap Racer projects are underway in Physical Science!!! Students have constructed and tested a prototype design and are currently working on their redesign proposal.
7th Grade FCS students have started their food labs with Easy Cheesy Garlic Bread made with fresh garlic. The students are learning teamwork, time management, and following directions. 36 (2 sections) 7th graders this semester take exploratory CTE (Career Technical Education) classes and dabble in different classes to see what they will want to take in high school. Way to go seventh graders!

Cooking Around the World students are currently in Spain, Italy, and Greece. Today we made pasta noodles from scratch! Tomorrow they will put them into an Italian dish choosing their sauce and ingredients. The students have learned about each countries' climate, type of food grown, and their culinary traditions. They like the idea of having a two hour lunch like they do in Italy and Spain.
students from Advanced Foods finished their salad unit with a lab. They did a wonderful job with their knife skills, presentation, making their own dressing, and working as a team. The unit was covered by assignments and a test. There are so many different types of salads to discover.
Mrs. Schmitt’s Foods I students did an excellent job making their omelets! This lab was a lot of prep work; which allowed practicing their knife skills.

oods II Class (two sections) have been planning their PBL (Project Based Learning) to teach preschool students about dairy nutrition. Our big day is coming "mooving" fast and all their hard work will pay off when we see the preschool students learning by playing carnival games. The students will answer questions and play the games including a dairy taste-testing booth with smoothies, pudding, and cheese samples. At each station the preschoolers will get dairy promotion prizes and more!

12th grade novels class. Senior Quinn Mahoney is dressed up as a civil war union soldier. The class is currently reading the novel across five Aprils, which focuses on a family who has relatives, fighting for both the confederacy and the union army.

The elementary raffle fundraiser is approaching! This is the only fundraiser the elementary has each year to support our students. We are still asking for donations that will be raffle prizes for our fundraiser. We would like to have donations by this week, but will accept donations until March 11th.
