The first graders in Mrs. Wickham's 1st grade class have been working on computer science activities with Mrs. Throndson. Yesterday the class did an unplugged activity involving dance moves and using the repeat option of coding. So much fun and excitement while working collaboratively!

There are new basketball rules for the 2023-24 basketball season.
When you attend the basketball games this season, a few
rules will be in effect.
1. There will be no more 1-1 Free Throws.
2. The bonus will always be 2 free throws.
3. The bonus begins at 5 team fouls.
4. team fouls reset after each quarter.
5. The scoreboard will only show a max of 5 team fouls.
Please be patient with the officials and scoreboard operators
as we adjust to the changes made by the NFHS.

Good luck to the 7th-8th grade girls basketball teams!! The 7th grade basketball game against Sumner-Fredericksburg will be at Sumner-Fredericksburg Middle School at 4:15pm this evening. The 8th grade basketball game will be following at 5:15pm this evening. They move it back to the main gym. Go Chickasaws!!

The first graders are learning about Community Helpers and decided to celebrate World Kindness Day by making a kindness snack mix and delivering it to some of our local community helpers!










Today two NHMS students are job shadowing at the UNI football game! They'll be working in the pressbox and attending the post game press conference to explore their interest in sports journalism and work in sports. A great follow up to last week's career week! #everloyal

MercyOne - New Hampton and Allen College partnered together to host a Healthcare Event that New Hampton High School Students had an opportunity to attend. Students were able to explore careers in the lab, Radiology, Nursing and Physical Therapy. Special thanks to MercyOne - New Hampton for hosting this and for helping to provide such great experiences for our students!



Senior students are preparing a radio broadcast for the History of Radio unit they are studying in the Media Lit. class. Radio was introduced commercially in the 1920's during the "Roaring 20's." Students will make a mock radio show from a specific decade.






The Students are working on their "We Interrupt this broadcast" radio projects. Students have a portable radio station and will be a local D.J. when the news arrives in their studio. They will send the radio listener to N.B.C., C.B,S., A.B.C., or M.B.S. for the latest news regarding events during W.W.II and The Holocaust. English 10 students are reading the book, Night by Elie Wiesel. Students will go on the air on Monday. November, 20th.
